This is Why We Exist
One school trip to Spain at 15, opened our founder’s eyes like never before.
She discovered how much she loved to dance, the flavours of new foods, how to budget while travelling and most of all, the joy of shared memories with friends that would last a lifetime.
That one experience became more than a trip. It became a moment of growth, independence and connection, a reminder that stepping into new cultures can change how we see the world and ourselves.
But not every young person gets that chance.
Recent studies show that 57% of parents in the UK can’t afford school trips or outings outside the classroom, despite recognising the lasting impact they have on confidence, curiosity, and wellbeing.
Take a Moment Away exists to lessen that gap.
We’re a Christian-founded social enterprise dedicated to making cultural and mission-based travel experiences accessible for students and young adults, regardless of their background.
Through our events, retreats, partnerships with schools and mission organisations, we aim to subsidise opportunities for students to travel and volunteer whilst developing life skills, cultural awareness, and compassion in a changing world.
Our hope is to see the next generation not only explore new places, but also learn to serve others and live with intention, embodying the values of love, empathy, and purpose wherever they go.
How We Create Impact

We work with schools and community partners to fund or subsidise school and mission trips, giving students who might not otherwise have the opportunity a chance to explore new cultures, build confidence, and gain real-world life skills.

By collaborating with travel companies, faith-based organisations, and mission projects, we connect young people to experiences that encourage cultural exchange and service, from local outreach to global volunteering.

From creative gatherings like Scripture & Sounds to professional and creative retreats, a portion of proceeds from every experience goes toward our student travel fund. This allows us to turn moments of connection into opportunities for others.
